Enduro rider Don Pronovost took on a big personal challenge on July 9thand 10th, 2016: the 16/24 Challenge. It’s an off-road motorcycle time trial that has you ride 1520 km in under 24 hours. Don started from Lachute at 5 a.m. on the morning of July the 9th. Three pit-stops later, Don made it to Val D’Or, a 750 km ride, in about 10 hours. He had a bite to eat, drank a little water and got back on his KTM 500 EXC 2013, heading back the way he came, but under driving rain.
Much to the relief of family and friends, of his mechanic Craig MacKiddie (Moto Teck) and support truck driver Frédérick Bois, and of his sponsors at MSR Racing and EC3D, Don crossed the finish line in one piece. Pushing forty, Don seized the opportunity to outdo himself. He and his team were exhausted but no less proud of Don’s achievement and he can now look forward to preparing for the Baja 1000 !
